Meet Mowgli: The Ocean's Friendliest Seal

Mowgli the seal has formed an unusual friendship with a diver named Michael Boyd. This playful seal loves to hang onto Michael's fins, hitching rides around the ocean. He even tickles the diver's legs and gives him head scratches.

Michael's Ocean Cleanup Mission

Michael began diving in San Diego about two years ago. During each dive, he works hard to remove trash from the ocean. He deeply respects marine life and follows an important rule: never try to touch or interact with seals. All his interactions with Mowgli happen only when the seal initiates them.
