Brave Black Cat Saves Dog Friend from Coyote Attack
Black Cat Rescues Dog from Coyote Attack
A black cat named Binx in Oklahoma proved that heroes come in all sizes when she bravely fought off two coyotes to save her dog friend. The amazing rescue was caught on a home security camera.
From Stray to Family Member
Binx wasn't always part of the family. She started as a stray cat who began hanging around Lane Dyer's house when she was just a couple months old. Over time, she made herself at home and formed a special bond with the family dog, Oakley.
A Normal Evening Turns Dangerous
One evening, what should have been a routine bathroom break turned scary. Lane let Oakley out into the backyard as usual, but danger was waiting. A coyote suddenly appeared and went after Oakley. Within moments, a second coyote joined the attack.
Binx to the Rescue
At the time of the attack, Binx was relaxing on the patio furniture near the house entrance. When she saw Oakley in trouble, she didn't hesitate. The security footage shows Binx sprinting toward the coyotes with no concern for her own safety.
The brave cat charged at the coyotes with such determination that she spooked them both. The predators, surprised by this fearless black cat, turned tail and ran away.
A Happy Ending
Thanks to Binx's quick action, both pets made it back inside safely. Oakley did suffer some injuries to her leg during the attack and was taken straight to the vet for treatment. The good news is that she has since healed completely and Lane reports she's now "good as new."
A Reminder for Pet Owners
This amazing story of animal friendship serves as an important reminder for pet owners who live in areas with potential predators. Always go outside with your pets, especially during evening hours when coyotes and other wildlife are more active.
Binx's heroic actions show that sometimes the smallest family members can have the biggest hearts—and the most courage when it matters most.
