Meet Willow

This is a story about a cat named Willow who recently became a hero. Willow lives with her owner, Amanda, who has diabetes. One night, something pretty scary happened.

A Scary Night

After going to bed, Amanda's blood sugar dropped really low. This can be very dangerous for people with diabetes. Amanda became unconscious and couldn't call for help. Downstairs, Amanda's partner, Ray, had fallen asleep in front of the TV.

Willow the Hero

Willow knew something was wrong. She made it her mission to get Ray's attention. Willow started biting his legs and pacing around anxiously. This behavior was very strange for Willow, and it made Ray curious. He decided to follow her.

Willow constantly checked to make sure Ray was following her. She led him upstairs to where Amanda was. Ray saw Amanda and quickly called an ambulance.

A Life Saved

The doctors told Amanda that she was very close to slipping into a diabetic coma. They said Willow likely saved her life by getting Ray's attention.

A Well-Deserved Honor

Because of her bravery, Willow is now one of 12 finalists for the Cat Protection National Cat Awards. People can vote for their favorite cat hero until June 30th.
