A Night That Could Have Ended Tragically

Amanda, who lives with diabetes, went to bed one night not knowing danger was coming. While she slept, her blood sugar dropped to very unsafe levels. Soon, she became unconscious and couldn't call for help.

Her partner Ray had fallen asleep downstairs in front of the TV. He had no idea Amanda was in trouble upstairs. That's when Willow took action.

Willow's Life-Saving Mission

Seeing her owner in distress, Willow knew something was wrong. The clever cat rushed downstairs and did something very unusual - she bit Ray's legs to wake him up! She then began pacing around anxiously.

Ray noticed right away that this behavior was not normal for Willow. The cat's strange actions got his attention, and he decided to follow her.

As Willow led Ray upstairs, she kept looking back to make sure he was still following. Her actions had a clear purpose - she was leading him directly to Amanda.

A Very Close Call

When Ray found Amanda unconscious, he quickly called an ambulance. Medical professionals later told Amanda something frightening - she had been very close to slipping into a diabetic coma. Without Willow's quick thinking, the outcome could have been much worse.

Doctors confirmed what the family already knew: Willow likely saved Amanda's life that night.

Recognition for a Furry Hero

Willow's brave actions haven't gone unnoticed. She is now one of 12 finalists for the Cat Protection National Cat Awards. This special honor recognizes cats who have done amazing things for their humans.
