Meet Indiana Bones: The Feline Boss of Oklahoma's Museum of Osteology

When the Museum of Osteology needed a supervisor, they hired Indiana Bones on the spot. Five years later, this tuxedo-wearing, fundraiser-hosting feline continues to rule the museum with an iron paw.

The Cat Who Rules the Museum

Indiana Bones recently celebrated his 5th Gotcha Day at the Museum of Osteology in Oklahoma City. This special cat continues to rule the museum with an iron paw and has quite a story to tell.

A Swift Hiring Process

Back in 2019, the museum formed an official committee with one important job: to hire a skilled manager and supervisor. When the committee visited the Moore Animal Shelter, they spotted Indy and knew he was perfect. He was hired on the spot without even an interview!

Rising Through the Ranks

Indy quickly moved up in his career at the museum. He became the director of napping and reached mediocre mouser status. These achievements earned him the coveted employee of the month award. Indy takes his job seriously and never misses a team meeting.

More Than Just a Working Professional

Indiana Bones does more than just work at the museum. He's deeply involved in the community too. He hosts his own fundraisers to help other shelter cats find homes.

He even owns a tuxedo! When weddings happen at the museum and he gets an invite, Indy dresses up for the occasion.

Part of the Museum Experience

Visitors to the museum can spot Indy in several ways. His height and photo appear on the museum's animal height chart. The staff also hides pictures of Indy around the property and in their brochures for guests to find.

A Special Birthday Gift

For his 5th Gotcha Day, Indy received a special gift. The nearby cat cafe, Don't Stress Me Out, created a portrait of him. This artwork will soon hang on the walls of the museum.

New Coworkers Join the Team

These days, Indiana gets some help managing the museum. His non-human coworkers include Duncan and Donut the parakeets, and Drake the bearded dragon.

But everyone at the Museum of Osteology knows the truth - behind the scenes, it's really Indiana Bones who runs the show.
