Many were supportive of this idea. Fans even created "Larry for Leader" signs to show their support. The public seemed ready for some feline leadership after years of political change.

As of today, Larry's transition from Chief Mouser to Prime Minister has yet to happen. But he made his position clear with another statement: "I live here permanently. Politicians are temporary residents."
