Meet Quinn: The Cat Who Rules with an Iron Paw
Meet Quinn: The Feline Ruler of the Humane Society
For over 100 days, Quinn the cat held court at the Humane Society of Washington County, Maryland. She wasn't just any resident - she was the longest-staying animal at the shelter. Staff soon realized why she had remained so long without finding a forever home.
The Perfect Cat for People Who Hate Visitors
The Humane Society decided it was time for some brutal honesty about their feline friend. In a candid social media post, they described Quinn as having an uncanny ability to make people feel unwelcome in her presence. This makes her the perfect companion for anyone who's tired of having guests over.
Staff compared her to a "more lively house plant," noting that she only really needs humans for basic necessities like food and water. No cuddles or affection required!
Rules of Quinn's Kingdom
The shelter didn't stop there with their honest assessment. They described Quinn as the physical embodiment of somebody yelling "get off my lawn," which is why they advised against placing her in homes with children.
Quinn also apparently has a fighting spirit when it comes to canines. The shelter warned that she would gladly challenge any dog to a fight, making her unsuitable for homes with four-legged residents.
Not an Owner - A Personal Servant
Perhaps the most amusing part of the shelter's plea was their clarification that whoever adopted Quinn wouldn't actually be her owner. According to staff, Quinn rules with an iron paw and simply cannot be owned.
They suggested that the ideal candidate would be someone who craved the feeling of being judged in their own home and wanted a cat that didn't particularly want them. Such brave souls were encouraged to apply to become Quinn's personal servant.
A Holiday Home Despite Her Best Efforts
Surprisingly - or perhaps unsurprisingly for those who love cats with attitude - Quinn found her forever home just days after the Humane Society's honest appeal. Despite her best efforts not to be adopted, she now has a new kingdom to rule.
So instead of continuing her reign as queen of the shelter, Quinn will be ruling somebody's house for the holidays. The Humane Society's honest approach proved that sometimes the truth, even when it's about a cat's less-than-friendly personality, is exactly what people need to hear.
