The Unwanted Guest

It all began when a cat named Envy discovered a stranger in Katie's backyard. This uninvited guest was a stray cat who would later be named Tom-Tom. He looked sick and weak, but whenever Katie tried to approach him, he would run away. Despite his fear, Katie could tell he needed urgent help.

Over the next few months, Katie worked hard to gain Tom-Tom's trust. She set out food for him each day and even built him a small shelter in her yard. Still, Tom-Tom kept his distance. Katie knew he needed medical care soon, and time was running out - she was planning to move to a new city.

Katie tried using a humane trap she borrowed from a local shelter, hoping to catch Tom-Tom and get him to a vet. But Tom-Tom was too smart or too scared. He would never go all the way inside the trap.

Running out of options, Katie had a new idea. She warmed up some chicken nuggets and placed them just inside her house, leaving the back door open. The news wasn't good. Tom-Tom had severe ear damage from ear mites and several other health problems. Many of his conditions were life-threatening. But Tom-Tom wasn't ready to give up.

From Fearful Stray to Family Member

With proper care and lots of love, Tom-Tom began to heal. His transformation has been amazing. The once-fearful stray has become a loving family cat. He's now so comfortable and confident that he even cuddles with and grooms Katie's foster kittens.
