The Last Delivery of the Day

Truck driver Fitz Francois had just finished a long twelve-hour shift. He made his last delivery and was ready to drive away. Then he noticed he had left his dolly in the store. This simple mistake would change his life forever.

As Fitz walked back to grab his dolly, he heard something strange. Meowing sounds were coming from somewhere in his truck. He looked all around but couldn't find anything.

A Face in the Coils

Fitz was about to give up his search when a tiny face appeared. The little kitten was hiding behind the truck's suspension coils - a very dangerous spot that gets squeezed when the truck hits bumps on the road.

This was a life-or-death situation for the small cat. If Fitz hadn't forgotten his dolly, he would have driven away. The kitten might not have survived the journey.

Building Trust

Fitz had never owned a pet before, but he knew he needed to help. He ran to buy some cat treats to coax the kitten out of hiding.

At first, the little cat was scared. But soon she seemed to understand that Fitz was there to save her. In a touching moment, she crawled right into his arms.

A New Beginning

That night, Fitz took the kitten to a hotel. He gave her a bath to clean off all the truck grease that covered her fur. During these first hours together, he realized he was already attached to her. He decided to name her Mickey.

The next day at the vet, Mickey made it clear who her new human was. She kept fighting to stay in Fitz's arms. The vet checked her over and found something amazing - despite her dangerous adventure in the truck, Mickey was perfectly healthy.

Life on the Road

Today, Mickey travels across the country with Fitz. She's become his constant companion on long hauls and his closest friend.

Fitz says Mickey is "the one thing in his life that he didn't know he needed until she fell in his lap." He believes it was simply "the cat distribution system" at work, and he was the chosen one.

This chance encounter - all because of a forgotten dolly - has given both Mickey and Fitz a new lease on life and a friendship neither expected.
