Meet Kitty: The Furry Concierge at St. Regis Resort
A Special Hotel Dog
This dog might deliver your refreshments if you order room service at a hotel in Colorado. Kitty, the Bernese Mountain Dog, is the official hotel dog of the St. Regis Resort in Aspen.
He's a 130 pounds now, but he originally started staying at the hotel as a puppy. Kitty is the first official hotel dog that the St. Regis brand has ever had. But his name is rooted in the hotel's history. He's named after the dog of John Jacob Astor II, who founded the hotel.
Kitty's Duties
Kitty isn't just about looking cute. He has some important roles around the hotel. If you're lucky, he might be waiting to greet you right when you check-in. He's also always at events around the hotel, like their Barks and Brews event. This event raises money for a local animal rescue called Lucky Day.
Happy Birthday, Kitty!
In fact, today is Kitty's 5th birthday celebration, and he's spending the evening raising funds for the rescue at his birthday party. And Kitty gets lots of time to rest, relax, and enjoy the hotel too.
Kitty's Playtime
Because he's a mountain dog and the St. Regis is a mountain resort, Kitty is right at home. He spends his break time playing in the snow when he can and hanging out by the pool when the weather is warmer. And when he's off duty, he goes home with his human who also works at the hotel.
