Brad the Runaway Sheep Returns Home After Weeks on the Run

When Brad the sheep escaped during transfer to a new home, nobody expected what would happen next. For weeks, he evaded capture while becoming a local celebrity. His mission? To return to his family.

The Great Escape

Brad the sheep kept an entire community on their toes for weeks as he refused to be captured. This runaway animal became famous in northern Minnesota as he dodged rescuers and made his way across the countryside. And once it became clear where he was going, rescuers decided to listen to him and let him live exactly where he wanted to.

Life at Golden Hour Acres

Brad was born at Golden Hour Acres, a small farm in Carlton, Minnesota. The farm is home to 15 Icelandic sheep, where owner Ryan makes cozy socks and mittens with their wool. Brad lived there happily with his mother and twin sister.

But in late October, everything changed. Brad made his great escape while being transferred to a new home in Two Harbors, about 50 miles away.

A Sheep Celebrity

As sightings of a rogue sheep began flooding social media, Brad became an overnight celebrity. Locals created a group dedicated to posting exactly when and where he was spotted. The community rallied together to track his journey.

But catching Brad proved nearly impossible. Each time rescuers got close, Brad managed to slip away. He seemed to have a plan and wasn't going to let anyone stop him.

The Journey Home

As Brad's journey across northern Minnesota continued, something became clear. This wasn't random wandering. Brad actually had a destination in mind. He was headed straight home to Golden Hour Acres, where his mother and twin sister still lived.

His determination spoke volumes. Despite the dangers of being alone in the wild, Brad knew exactly where he wanted to be.

Listening to Brad

Finally, as it became evident that Brad had made himself pretty clear, Ryan made a heartwarming decision. He decided not to go through with the transfer and welcomed Brad back to Golden Hour Acres permanently.

Today, Brad is happy and healthy. He can be found munching on snacks alongside his sister at the farm where he was born, where he'll now remain for good.

Sometimes animals know exactly what they want - and in Brad's case, he was willing to journey for weeks to get back to his family.
