Marathon Duck: How Wrinkle Conquered the NYC Marathon for the Third Time
Meet Wrinkle: The Duck Who Runs Marathons
Wrinkle the Duck recently completed her third New York City Marathon, amazing runners and spectators alike. One non-duck runner even wondered if she was hallucinating when she spotted a duck at the finish line. But Wrinkle is very real, and she takes her marathon training seriously.
Luckily for fans, Wrinkle documented her race day experience, giving us a peek into the life of a marathon-running duck.
Race Day Begins
Last Sunday, Wrinkle woke up at the quack of dawn to start her pre-race routine. Her healthy breakfast consisted of zucchini with some sips of water from a PAW Patrol cup.
After her morning meal, she slipped into her state-of-the-art webbed running shoes and headed to the special duck-only starting line. This exclusive starting point is just a few blocks from the finish line - one of the perks of being a duck in a human race!
The Marathon Journey
Throughout the 26.2-mile course, Wrinkle stayed focused on her goal. She avoided heavy foods along the way, even turning down a donut offered on the course.
With speed and grace, she waddled the entire marathon route through the five boroughs of New York City. Her determination never wavered as she made her way to Central Park.
Victory Celebration
After crossing the finish line, Wrinkle received her well-deserved medal. Like any proud athlete, she wore her medal around the city for the rest of the night, showing off her impressive accomplishment to everyone she met.
What's Next for Wrinkle?
With three NYC Marathons now under her feathers, fans are wondering what's next for this athletic duck. Will she place a 26.2 sticker on the back of her Quack A Lack? Only time will tell.
One thing is certain - Wrinkle has proven that marathon running isn't just for humans. With the right training, diet, and webbed running shoes, ducks can cross finish lines too!
